Privacy Policy
Domus (“the app”) is an iPhone app that helps you run a home and the household staff who help you keep it — their work, attendance, pay, and leave, alongside the home’s assets and vendors. Because a home is shared, Domus stores your records on our servers so that everyone you invite sees the same up-to-date picture. This policy explains what that means.
Your account
To use Domus you sign in — with Sign in with Apple or an email and password. We keep the minimum needed to run your account: an identifier for you, your name and email if you provide them, and which homes you belong to. If you sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we only ever see Apple’s private relay address.
What you put into Domus
The useful part of Domus is the information you enter about your home: the people who work there and their roles, work and attendance records, pay and leave, and details of the home’s assets and the vendors who service them. This content belongs to your home. It is stored on our servers and shared only with the other members you have invited to that home.
Please add other people’s details (such as a staff member’s name or contact) only with their knowledge. You are responsible for the information you enter about others.
How your information is used
We use your information solely to provide the app: to authenticate you, to keep your home’s records in sync across its members, to format money in your home’s currency and dates in its timezone, and to keep the service secure and working. We do not use it to advertise to you or to build a profile of you.
What we never do
- No ads, and no selling or sharing of your data for advertising.
- No tracking across other apps or websites — Domus contains no third-party advertising or tracking SDKs, and never asks for App Tracking Transparency because it does not track.
- No third-party analytics that identify you.
Who else is involved
A few service providers help us run Domus: Apple handles Sign in with Apple and app distribution, and our cloud hosting provider stores the app’s database on our behalf. These providers process data only to deliver the service, not for their own purposes. Domus does not currently include in-app purchases; if that changes, this policy and the app’s App Store privacy label will be updated first.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your home’s records for as long as your account and home are active. You can ask us to export or delete your account and its data at any time by writing to [email protected]; when a home is deleted, its records are removed. Some information may persist briefly in encrypted backups before it ages out.
Security
Access to a home’s data is limited to its invited members, connections to our servers are encrypted in transit, and sign-in tokens are stored in the iPhone’s Keychain. No system is perfect, but we treat your household’s information with care.
